With nearly 30 years experience within SEMH, much of which is in the field of behaviour, Harmony is led by Sarah Baker and Victoria Balls.
The motivation behind their decision to follow this career was driven by their own experiences
as teachers who simply wanted every child to achieve their full potential.
Victoria is co-owner and secondary lead. She started her teaching career in a mainstream
school delivering GCSE Science and A-Level Chemistry. Within a few short years she had
moved to work in more specialist provision, run a Pupil Referral Unit and overseen a Local
Authority Behaviour support service. Then was the time to have a break and spend time with
her young family...but not for long! Following the completion of her NPQH, Harmony was
established in 2014 and has grown and morphed to meet the needs of young people that need
their help.
Sarah is co-owner and primary lead. Her teaching career was started in a mainstream school. She then moved across to teaching in a special needs school where she also ran a nurture group. Sarah was then able to apply her skills and experience working for a Local Education Authority supporting teachers and students. Victoria and Sarah then combined forces to form Harmony in 2014.
Sarah and Victoria are lucky enough to be joined by an amazing team of specialist teachers and
TAs that help to deliver personalised packages to young people. All staff have suitable training.
Across Primary and Secondary:
I am Tilly, a chocolate Labrador. My mum is Sarah and I come to Harmony with her. I love spending time with the students, as they play with me and give great hugs.
I am Loki, a Norweigan Elk hound and my Mum is Victoria. I come to work most days to have cuddles, treats and sometimes extra walks.
